On September 23, 2015, the renowned American evolution biologist Professor David Sloan Wilson visited the Heidner biocluster in Hamar.
Besides visiting and learning about Heidner, and companies Geno, Graminor and BioBank specifically, the President gave a fascinating lecture on the topic of “Evolution, Cooperation, and Multilevel Selection”.

David Sloan Wilson is president of the Evolution Institute (http://evolution-institute.org) and SUNY Distinguished Professor of Biology and Anthropology at Binghamton University in New York. He is visiting Norway as the 2015 Arne Naess Chair of Global Justice and the Environment at the University of Oslo. He is trained as an evolutionary biologist and champions the study of evolution in relation to human affairs in addition to the life sciences. His most recent book is Does Altruism Exist? Culture, Genes, and the Welfare of Others, which is being translated into Norwegian.
